Sōkyoku Hill:

The Sōkyoku Hill is an iconic, large, rocky mesa located at the center of Seireitei in Soul Society, where it is overlooked by the Shrine of Penitence. The hill is visible from most of Seireitei and is one of the most easily recognizable locations in Bleach. It has sheer cliffs on all sides. There are two known access points to the Sōkyoku Hill - a long bridge connecting to the Shrine of Penitence complex and a long, zigzagging stairway carved into one side of the Hill.One end of the Hill is heavily undercut. It is at this point that the Sōkyoku and the bridge are located. The opposite end is covered by white forest.

Sōkyoku Hill training ground:

Urahara styled his shop's secret training ground on one he built beneath Sōkyoku Hill while young. In this training ground, he and Yoruichi Shihōin would play and train. When Ichigo Kurosaki narrowly escapes defeat by Byakuya Kuchiki, Yoruichi takes him to this training ground in order that he might rapidly attain Bankai through use of the Tenshintai. Renji also attains Bankai in this space.

While very similar in appearance to the Urahara Shop's training ground, the Sōkyoku Hill training ground also sports a hot springs whose waters have the power of healing injuries.

Sōkyoku:

The Sōkyoku (双殛, Twinned Punishment) is a large halberd, which the Gotei 13 uses at Sōkyoku Hill to execute Shinigami that have severely broken the law. When released, it takes the form of a huge and magnificent Phoenix-like entity, known as Kikōō. As noted by Sōsuke Aizen, it is a punishment usually reserved for Captain-level Shinigami that have severely broken the law (thus, the punishment for Rukia Kuchiki was highly unusual, which Aizen also noted). The Sōkyoku is said to have power equal to 1 million Zanpakutō, and that power is multiplied by ten the moment it pierces the victim. It also has the defensive ability to block Zanpakutō of equal power, and it can evaporate the soul of the one being executed by it. Sōsuke Aizen hoped to use this as a means to retrieving the Hōgyoku inside Rukia Kuchiki's body, but failed to do so. Before the Sōkyoku could kill Rukia, Ichigo Kurosaki appeared and blocked the strike with Zangetsu (something the observing Shinigami found astonishing, since Ichigo was blocking something as powerful as the Sōkyoku with only one Zanpakutō). It is then subsequently destroyed by Jūshirō Ukitake and Shunsui Kyōraku using the Shihōin Shield.
