Mue wore the standard armor of all the Dark Ones, and was very pale. He had turquoise colored eyes and long black hair. He was the only Dark One carrying a sword besides their leader (though it's unclear if the sword was a Zanpakutō).

As with the rest of the Dark Ones, Mue appeared to be proud, overconfident, and arrogant. He was also very cowardly, attempting to flee Kenpachi when the latter surprised him from behind.

The Dark Ones were once a part of the Fallen House of Ryōdoji, exiled 1000 years ago to the Dangai Precipice World. Amazingly, the group somehow managed to avoid the deadly current flowing through the entire Dangai, and resided there for many years. It was in this world that Mue, along with the rest of the clan, discovered the souls that evaded transmigration and turned into wandering ghosts: The Blanks. The Dark Ones learned to harness the Blanks as an energy source for their own power learning all the information there is about Blanks, and formulated a plan for revenge against Soul Society. Some time before the events of the film take place, Mue's clan came to the Valley of Screams where they continued to reside.

Bleach: Memories of Nobody
Mue was one of the first Dark Ones to be revealed, alongside Ganryū and Jai. He stayed inside the roaming mass of Blanks, leaving shortly after they disperse. Mue is later seen attempting to capture Senna along with the rest of his clan, minus Ganryū, but was halted by Ichigo Kurosaki. During their second attempt he fought against 13th Division Captain Jūshirō Ukitake, able to hold him off briefly before they retreated to the Valley of Screams. While Kenpachi Zaraki laments that he cannot find an opponent, Mue attacks him with shuriken. Much to his surprise Kenpachi easily deflects them, and appears behind him a second later. He attempts to flee but is followed by Yachiru Kusajishi, and inevitably runs into Kenpachi again, managing to cut him with his sword. After this, surprised by Mue's ability to injure him, Kenpachi decides he might be fun after all, and holds nothing back, killing him instantly.

Blank Manipulation: Like all of the Dark Ones, Mue could manipulate the Blanks for various purposes. Strangely he was one of the only members to not demonstrate the ability.
Projectile/Close-Combat Weapons Expert: Since he was killed with little effort by Kenpachi, much of his powers are a mystery. What is worth noting is that he has at least enough power to slash a wound across Kenpachi, who is renowned as an incredibly difficult entity to even wound, and was able to hold off Captain Ukitake for a short amount of time. Mue was seen using shuriken effectively as well, along with various blades.[1]
Large Arsenal: Mue has displayed a variety of arsenal in his disposal, including a broadsword from which a thinner sword can be drawn; this thin sword that can separate as explosive projectiles and a whip-like weapon with a hook at the end that can catch an opponent's sword and transmit a spark to produce an explosion.
